Varanasi, Also known as Benares, it is the place where pilgrims come to the ghats to wash away a lifetime of sins in the sacred waters of the River Ganges. Ghats are riverfront steps leading to the banks of the River Ganges, most of them are bathing, while a few are used exclusively as cremation sites.

It is believed by the hindus that if a person dies in Varanasi, he will be redeemed of all sins by Lord Shiva on the cremation pire.

That way some elders leave the comfort of their family home and pilgrim their way to Varanasi to die there, in the hope of liberation from the circle of birth and death.

A large number of pilgrims come to visit or stay in the holy city from all parts of India.

Varanasi is a place that stirs one to reflect about life, The essence of Varanasi is seen when the sun rises bringing hope and optimism to thousands of people.
