Bromo Tengger National Park is located in East Java, Indonesia. It includes the highest mountain in Java, Mount Semeru (3676m) . There are five volcanos inside the Tengger caldera, the volcanic complex of Tengger forms a condition where a new caldera of volcano forms inside a larger and more ancient caldera.
Mount Bromo (2329m) is the most well know and the name Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Bhrama, the hindu God of Creation.
The vulcanic evolution in the area started from the existence of a big Volcano named Tengger, which is more than 2000 years of age.
