PERITO MORENO GLACIER
I haven't been everywhere, but it is on my list."
Susan Sontag

HELLO THERE!
Perito Moreno Glacier is located in the Los Glaciares National Park, near El Calafate, in the southwest of the Santa Cruz Province in the Argentinian Patagonia. It's one of 48 glaciers fed by Southern Patagonian Ice field located in the Andes system shared with Chile. This ice field is the world's third largest reserve of fresh water. It is one in only three Patagonian glaciers that is growing. the reason remains debated by glaciologists.
PeritoMoreno Glacier is around 5kms wide, with an average height of 60m above the surface of the lake "Lago Argentino" and a total of ice depth of 170m. It advances at a speed of up to 2m a day (around 700m a year) although it looses mass at approximately the same rate. As its deepest part, the glacier has a depth of 700m.
